Get to know the WSO!

How We Got Started

In 2013 a small group of enthusiastic musicians, led by The
Woodlands resident trumpeter Darryl Bayer, felt the call to fashion and brand a new Woodlands Symphony Orchestra that would
celebrate area musicians with a focus on creating innovative
interdisciplinary concerts. Ten years later, with Darryl Bayer paving the way as Artistic Director, the WSO has performed countless
concerts including shows at The Woodlands Pavilion and for The
Woodlands Township Arts in the Park to reach the masses free of admission charges. Each year the WSO performs Christmas concerts and Handel’s Messiah as their gift to the community.
